WA’s first-ever green steel conference

Well, that’s a wrap for WA’s first-ever green steel conference! Thank you Hon Bill Johnston and everyone involved for your time and great insights. It was amazing to see so many people in one place, all committed to transforming the steel industry.

Some of our insights from the conference include:

• increased recycling of scrap steel is an essential part of the transition to green steel
• direct reduction technologies are commercially proven and can produce green iron and steel from iron ore today
• we need to continue development of the next generation of green steel technologies if we are to fully decarbonise the industry
