Collie Industry Transition Expo-1

Collie Industry Transition Expo

We had a wonderful time sharing our progress towards forging WA’s steel industry at the Collie Industry Transition Expo held on Saturday.

Key members of our team were on hand to meet members of the community and chat about WA’s first steel mill in Collie, what jobs will be available and when, and discover what we could bring you and your families.

We were joined by our colleagues in Just Transition, Magnium Australia, International Graphite, Quantum Filtration, South32, Synergy, and many others.

Key stakeholders and supporters of our journey were in attendance, including Premier Roger Cook, Minister for Regional Development Don Punch, local member Jodie Hanns MLA, and representatives of Collie’s Just Transition Working Group.

It’s all part of efforts to shift the Collie economy from its dependence on coal by investing to attract major projects and to bring new and emerging industries to town.
As part of the Just Transition, the WA Government will invest over $662 million to diversify the economy and support future jobs in the region.
These efforts are aimed at creating new, local, high-quality jobs in the Collie region that utilise the skilled transitioning workforce.
