Community Support Program

Green Steel WA is proudly Western Australian-owned and operated and we aim to make a genuine positive and lasting difference in the communities in which we operate.

We employ local people, procure products and services from locally owned businesses wherever possible, actively participate in a circular economy, and invest in appropriate community programs.

We will consider support for not-for-profit, incorporated organisations for projects or activities that primarily benefit at least one of the communities in which we operate and address a substantiated need.

Support is prioritised for sustainable projects and activities that demonstrate broad community, social and environmental benefits.

We will not provide support for individuals; political candidates, parties or organisations; for-profit organisations; overseas appeals; and/or retrospective projects or activities.

Applications are considered annually and must be lodged by XX DATE.

Successful applicants will assume all normal commercial responsibilities including public risk and/or any other appropriate  insurances.

Successful applicants may also be asked to publicly recognise our support.

The plant will be WA’s first steel mill and the cleanest and most efficient mill in Australia.

Construction of the plant is expected to commence in the second quarter of 2024, with early operations beginning in 2026. The mill will be located in the town of Collie, 220km south of Perth.
